ZAEZ aims to build itself into an international aviation logistics center and a rising, highly efficient international integrated transportation hub driven by air and rail transport. By that time, Zhengzhou Airport is expected to handle 45 million passengers and 1 million tons of cargo and mail annually.

建成国际航空物流中心。基本建成具有突出效率优势的国际综合交通枢纽，空铁“双枢纽”驱动格局基本形成，郑州机场旅客吞吐量达到4500万人次，货邮吞吐量突破100万吨。

ZAEZ aims to develop a modern industrial base featuring booming aviation industry. It will form several internationally influential industrial clusters in such fields as aviation logistics, high-end manufacturing, and modern service industries, with enterprises' prime operating revenue expected to reach 800 billion yuan.

建成以航空经济为引领的现代产业基地。形成具有国际影响力的航空物流、高端制造、现代服务业等产业集群，企业主营业务收入达到8000亿元。

ZAEZ aims to act as an important gateway for inland areas to connect with the outside world. It will continue to deepen the Zhengzhou-Luxembourg "dual hub" model and make breakthroughs in building major open platforms such as the expansion area of the Xinzheng Comprehensive Bonded Zone and the expansion area of the Henan Pilot Free Trade Zone.

建成内陆地区对外开放重要门户。郑州—卢森堡“双枢纽”模式持续拓展，新郑综合保税区扩区、河南自贸试验区扩展区域等重大开放平台申建取得新突破。

ZAEZ aims to become a modern aviation metropolis. During the 14^thFive-Year Plan period, the core areas of the Airport New City, the Air-Rail New City, and the Shuanghehu Science and Technology City will be essentially completed, with a total built-up area of around 130 square kilometers.

建成现代航空都市。空港新城、空铁新城、双鹤湖科技城三大板块核心区基本建成，建成区面积达到130平方公里。

ZAEZ aims to be a core pillar of growth in the high-quality development of the Zhengzhou Metropolitan Area, with the growth rate of its main economic indicators surpassing the provincial and municipal average. The total economic output will account for one tenth that of Zhengzhou City, and the total foreign trade value will amount to about 80% of the Zhengzhou Metropolitan Area's total.

建成郑州都市圈核心增长极。主要经济指标增速保持高于省市平均水平，经济总量占郑州市比重力争达到1/10，外贸进出口总额占郑州都市圈比重达到80%左右，成为郑州都市圈更高水平的高质量发展核心增长极。

Why such ambitious goals? ZAEZ has gained confidence from its accelerated hub-oriented development over the past five years, during which, it managed to leverage the advantageous traffic location of Zhengzhou to gain impressive results in opening up, making new space for regional high-quality development as an inland city.

航空港区缘何有信心定下宏大目标？底气来自近5年加快推进枢纽建设，其将内陆劣势转变为开放胜势，充分发挥郑州交通区位优势，为区域高质量发展拓展了新空间。

Since the beginning of the 13^thFive-Year Plan period, ZAEZ has significantly improved its overall strength. The regional GDP has reached 104.12 billion yuan, 1.7 times that of 2015, with an average annual growth rate of 11.4%. The accumulative investment in fixed assets has totaled 281.5 billion yuan, an average annual growth rate of 7.7%. The general public budget revenue has risen to 6.54 billion yuan, an average annual growth rate of 12.9%. The total value of foreign trade has reached 444.7 billion yuan, an average annual growth rate of 7%, accounting for 66.8% of the province's total and 89.9% of the city's. Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport has achieved the highest passenger and cargo volume in central China for four consecutive years, ranking 11^thand 6^threspectively among large airports in the country. The Airport ranked among the world's top 50 by cargo throughput.

“十三五”以来，郑州航空港区综合实力迈上新台阶。地区生产总值达1041.2亿元，是2015年的1.7倍，年均增长11.4%。累计完成固定资产投资2815亿元，年均增长7.7%；财政一般公共预算收入达到65.4亿元，年均增长12.9%；外贸进出口总额突破4000亿元，达到4447亿元，年均增长7%，在全省、全市占比分别达66.8%、89.9%。郑州新郑国际机场客货运规模连续四年保持中部地区“双第一”，在全国大型机场中排名分别居第11位、第6位，货运规模更是进入全球前50强。

Going forward, ZAEZ will continue to proceed with the Zhengzhou South Railway Station project. Specifically, it will accelerate the construction and operation of station buildings and yards, speed up the construction of supporting public facilities, platforms, and surrounding roads, as well as the air-rail transfer center, the high-speed rail logistics center, the tourist center, and the long-distance passenger transport center. In terms of the rail traffic system, ZAEZ will complete the second phase of the suburban line, scheme and implement the Automated People Mover (APM) System connecting Zhengzhou Airport and Zhengzhou South Railway Station, build the Zhengzhou-Xuchang Intercity Railway, and coordinate the construction of the Zhengzhou-Dengfeng-Luoyang Intercity Railway and the Zhengzhou Metropolitan Area Rail Transit Lines S3 and S4, facilitating the formation of a "2-hour traffic circle" that covers all major cities in the Central Plains City Cluster and a "3-hour traffic circle" that efficiently connects surrounding provincial capital cities.

接下来，航空港区要推进郑州南站站房、站场建成运营，加快配套公共设施、配套平台系统及周边道路的建设，建成南站配套的空铁换乘中心、高铁物流中心、旅游集散中心、长途客运中心。建成城郊线二期工程，谋划推进郑州机场至郑州南站旅客捷运系统（APM）建设，建成郑州至许昌市域铁路，统筹推进郑登洛城际铁路和郑州都市圈轨道交通S3、S4线建设，形成辐射中原城市群重要城市的“2小时交通圈”、高效连接周边省会城市的“3小时交通圈”。

This is the Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone, a terminus of the "Aerial Silk Road" that makes it possible for Zhengzhou, an inland city, to establish contact with the rest of world, and for Henan to expand its opening up.
