Most people travel by air – especially for a long-haul

If you are travelling a long distance,

you might have a layover (也可以说 Stop over 旅行途中中途短暂的停留) for a few hours at an airport,or you might get a connecting flight (转机).

When you arrive at the airport, you first check in（办理登机手续） at the check-in desk（登记柜台）.

Your luggage is taken onto the plane by baggage handlers (行李搬运工)You can take hand luggage（随身行李） with you onto the plane.

If the flying time is long, you can have jet lag（时差） when you arrive, as your body tries to adjust to the different time-zone.
