1.had better do/had better not do 最好（不）要

You had better do it yourself.

你最好自己做。

You had better not eat too much sweet.

你最好别吃太多的糖。

2. would rather do than do 宁愿·····而不愿····

I would rather stay at home than go out.

我宁愿呆在家里而不愿出去。

I would rather go swimming than play video games.

我宁愿去游泳也不愿打电子游戏。

3. can not (help) but do 不得不

He cannot help but give up.

他不得不放弃。

We cannot choose but give them the money.

我们只能把钱给他们。

4. do nothing but do 只是、只有

She did nothing but cry.

她只是哭个不停。

We had nothing to do but wait.

我们只有等待。
