AG comes from Latin Verb agere "to do, to drive", ACT为其变体形式来源于agere的动名词形式actum的词干部分, 其变体形式还有IG, 注: ag前仍为元音是a通常脱落变成g, e.g. cogent, 同义词根有来自拉丁语的flig, pel/puls[peal], 以及拉丁语的duct/duc, men以及来自希腊语的agog "to lead".
