有些地方说“闷骚”的英语翻译是man show，其实这种翻译很不恰当，原因有二：其一，“闷骚”是形容词，而man show不是形容词，顶多是一个名词词组，“男人的表演”；其次，“闷骚”不一定非得是男人的专利，闷骚女也大量存在。下面，我们来研究一下到底如何翻译“闷骚”。

据传“闷骚”一词是man show的音译，来自于港澳，其实英文中并没有man show这个词。换句话说，跟英美人说man show，他们是不会明白你在说“闷骚”的。但是，有showman这个词，也就是把man show倒过来，意思是“善于引起公众注意的人”，如：
