Panlong River is a wandering river

如一条虬盘在昆明土地上的卧龙

like a crouching dragon on the land of Kunming.

The river starts from Liangwang Mountain in the west

流经阿子营、狮子山在与冷水河交汇后折入了松花坝

flows by Aziying and Lion Mountain, flows together with Lengshui River, turns into Songhua Basin

由南向北纵穿昆明而过后

最终流入滇池。

旧时，自松花坝水库流出的盘龙江

霖雨桥

最有故事的盘龙石桥

Linyu Bridge, the Most Historic Stone Bridge over the Panlong River

霖雨桥有300多年历史，

After over 300 years,

历经风霜却仍旧完好如故。

Linyu Bridge is as intact as before.

传说昆明曾受大旱，

It is said that Kunming had a drought,

祁雨的官员在仪式完成后途经石桥便逢甘霖，

and officials praying for rain encountered a life-saving rain on the stone bridge,

因此得名霖雨桥。

so it was named as Linyu Bridge.

龙川桥

最早的盘龙江上桥

Longchuan Bridge, the Earliest Bridge over the Panlong River

距今有700多年历史的龙川桥

Longchuan Bridge is the number one bridge of Panlong River,

为盘龙江第一桥。

which was dated back to over 700 years ago.

桥北有“滚龙坝”，

“Gunlong Basin” is in the north of the bridge,

坝高河低，

and the basin is high and the river is low,

洪水直泄如“滚龙”，

so the flood flows like a “rolling dragon”,

故名龙川桥。

and the bridge is named as Longchuan Bridge.

得胜桥

最具人气的盘龙石桥

Desheng Bridge, the Most Popular Stone Bridge in the Panlong River

得胜桥历史悠久，

Desheng Bridge has a long-lasting history,

元称大德桥，明称云津桥。

and it was named as Dade Bridge in the Yuan Dynasty and Yunjin Bridge in the Ming Dynasty.

相传到清代康熙平三藩时

It is said that when Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty conquered Three Feudatories,

由赵德胜率兵首先攻占该桥，

Zhao Desheng led soldiers and occupied the bridge,

后遂改名得胜桥。

so the bridge was renamed as Desheng Bridge.

而如今得胜桥是昆明城区四区的分界线，

Now Desheng Bridge is the boundary of four urban districts of Kunming City,

人气较往昔有过之而无不及。

so it is even more popular than before.

洪闸桥

盘龙江上的最后守卫

Hongzha Bridge, the Last Guard of the Panlong River

洪闸桥是盘龙江上的最后一座桥，

Hongzha Bridge is the last bridge over the Panlong River,

同时也是当地人民重要的交通道路。

and meanwhile it is an important transportation bridge for local people.

盘龙江九曲回肠的江水，

穿过了最后的守卫洪闸桥，

under the last guard Hongzha Bridge,

奔流入海，汇入滇池。

Blossoming Jacaranda flowers at the riverside of the Panlong River

吻冬的精灵红嘴鸥

Black-Headed Gulls, Elves in Winter

深秋初冬之间，

Black-headed gulls like elves fly to the spring city

春城总能迎来那精灵般的红嘴鸥，

whenever dark autumn and early winter comes.

它们从遥远的西伯利亚而来，

They are from distant Siberia,

带着初冬清冷的气息为春城献上冬天的第一个吻。

giving the first kiss to the spring city in the cool and refreshing early winter.

盘龙江的江水，

The water of the Panlong River

同样是这些精灵喜爱的游乐场，

is the merry land of these birds,

它们上下翻飞，

where they fly up and down,

嬉笑打闹。

and play with each another.

The Panlong River is still flowing as time goes by,
