动词类型记忆方法（动词respect的5个变形的记忆方法）
目前在教的一个育才学生问过这个话题respectful, respected, respecting, respectable, respective单词的记忆，以下是个总结。

其中的三个单词不易产生记忆含义的差异：
respecting介词，相当于concerning, regarding等，含义为“关于，与…有关”；
respective各自的，分别的，各个的；
respected受尊敬的；受敬重的；受重视的。
难点是respectable与respectful的准确记忆。
respectable表示被动含义——可敬的——可用作定语和表语
表示受人尊敬的可能性，未必达到respected的程度，
-able后缀，常加在动词之后构成形容词，多具有被动含义
loveable可爱的
breakable易破碎的
forgivable可原谅的
respectful表示主动含义——对…恭敬的；尊敬的~ to/towards/of…
-ful后缀构成的形容词一般具有主动含义：
helpful有益的
useful有用的
respectfully表示敬意地，毕恭毕敬地，有礼貌地

以下作为初高中学生可暂时不记忆：
respectable直译作“可敬的”，在阶级社会里往往把财产、地位、门第等作为受人尊敬的条件，所以respectable往往作“上流社会的、高尚的”的意思。
respectable从“可敬的”转作“还算好的、说得过去的”，有时还有“不过如此的”的意思。
respectable还可以用讽刺的口吻说别人respectable，往往有“高雅得俗不可耐的”意思。
