重庆大学（简称重大（CQU），Chongqing University），于1929年始建，位于重庆市，是中共中央直管、教育部直属的副部级研究型综合性全国重点大学，“建筑老八校”之一，国家“双一流”“211工程”“985工程”高校，2000年由原重庆大学、重庆建筑大学、重庆建筑高等专科学校三校合并组建成新重庆大学。

该校早在民国时期就是中国最杰出的国立大学之一，由教育部和重庆市共同建设，是“卓越大学联盟”、“中俄工科大学联盟”成员高校；入选“2011计划”、“111计划”、“卓越工程师教育培养计划”、“卓越法律人才教育培养计划”、“国家建设高水平大学公派研究生项目”；设有研究生院和国家大学科技园。1935年批准为省立大学；抗战期间和西迁的中央大学合作办学。1942年更名为国立重庆大学，成为有文、理、工、商、法、医6个学院的国立综合性大学，1960年成为全国重点大学。改革开放后，学校大力发展人文、经管、艺术、教育等学科专业。

In 1960, it became a national key university. After the reform and opening up, the university has made great efforts to develop humanities, economic management, art, education and other disciplines.
