Dear Mike,

I am more than delighted on hearing that you are recruiting new members for the voluntary work at the Olympic game, which drives me to write a letter in the hope that I may be chosen to field a job vacancy.

My advantages abound, one of which is my permanent oral English that enables me to communicate with foreignors both freely and fluently. An other related to my mastering a large amount of sports expertise so that I can introduce relevant information precisely.

A third advantage lies in my outgoing and passionate personalities and it is this characteristic that makes me easily attract other’s attention.

I hold the firm belief that I, such a charismatic person, is the best candidate you are seeking. I would appreciate it as well as do my ulmost to do the job if you could grant me a prompt reply regarding my the result.

笔者认为，由于上述英语作文——轻“英文思维”，重“中文思维”而导致追求“模板范文高级用词”，如：I hold the firm belief that…in the hope that…delighted on hearing that...等，因此难以达到“高级”的效果。

写这篇英语作文的网友自评和请求：“联考作文被老师打了17分。大概题设是申请信，老师说我用词偏离考纲，但我的确觉得自己用的还是相对贴切。而且高考真的不鼓励高级用词吗？心里有点小委屈，要求网友老师给一下参考建议。”

笔者，懂中英文，看了网友的英语作文从中国人思维来说（不含不懂汉语的外国人），看懂了网友写英文作文。现就中式思维的英文改成英式思维的英文，提出改正建议四点如下：

第一点，由于中式思维所以表达英文直接翻译英文，因此不符合英文习惯表达思想内容写作，即“Dear Mike, I am more than delighted on hearing that you are recruiting new members for the voluntary work at the Olympic game, which drives me to write a letter in the hope that I may be chosen to field a job vacancy（麦克，我很高兴听说，你正在招聘奥运会志愿者新成员，这使我写信希望被选为候选某工作职位空缺）.”。

一般抬头人应该写“Dear Sirs”因为应聘者一般不知道负责招聘工作人员的名字的，而招聘单位也不会公布工作人员名字的，只能写招聘处主管工作人员，OK了。

其中使用再好的英语词句（如：I am more than delighted on hearing that...；which drives me to write；in the hope that...I hold the firm belief that）也是难以显现是“高级用词”之初衷的，这思维不对（我…听说你正在招聘…），如同“穿西服（词好）戴草帽穿草鞋（不符合英文习惯表达思想）”一样的，而符合英文习惯表达思想内容写作是：

Dear Officer from Olympic Game,

As a student, Li Hua from one of high schools, I would write you a letter applying to you for being one of volunteers doing voluntary-service work for the Olympic Game.等。我作为高中学校的一个学生，特函申请想当一名奥运会志愿服务工作的志愿者。

第二点，网友原写作“联考作文被老师打了17分”作文中的有效思想内容词句是：㈠oral English；㈡sports expertise；㈢passionate；㈣other’s attention；㈤candidate；㈥charismatic有效英文的“骨头”由中文思维的“筋脉”连接不成为一体。

第三点，由于一些词句含有中式思维所组的英语句子，所以包不住英语思维的英语句段，主要涉及六个句如下：

㈠中式思维My advantages abound, one of which is my permanent oral English→英式思维My advantages are to bring Olympic Game to show world-wide people in English.

㈡中式思维An other related to my mastering a large amount of sports expertise so that I can introduce relevant information precisely→英式思维Combining with the my knowledge acquired about sports, I can communicate some information with foreign athletes and reporters to whom I speak in English clearly, freely and fluently.

㈢中式思维A third advantage lies in my outgoing and passionate personalities...→英式思维Thinking about this, mentally, I am full of enthusiasm about athletes and people present at Olympic Game at their service with which I would provide them hour by hour, day by day.

㈣中式思维and it is this characteristic that makes me easily attract other’s attention. I hold the firm belief that I, such a charismatic person, is the best candidate you are seeking（中式表达“你寻求有魅力的候选人”）→英式思维The voluntary service turns on charm for me in a sense in my dream to come true, remaining full of spirit with people held in great affection, in kind assistance and with efforts made on performing my duty towards Olympic Game satisfactorily. （英式表达“强调志愿者做事的精神和良好的结果”）

㈤中式思维...grant me a prompt reply regarding my the result→英式思维...make or give me a prompt reply on whether I will be one of applicants or not. 因为前者违反了英文习惯表达要求了；reply一词习惯跟带介词是on而不是regarding；my the result是中式思维表达，whether I will be one of applicants or not是英式表达。

㈥中式思维as well as do my ulmost to do the job→英式思维in an effort to make on my doing job well为好,其中ulmost写错，正确的是utmost; foreignors写错，正确的是foreigners。

把上述㈠到㈥中式英语改正为英式思维汇总如下：

That has me work hard at staying true to my voluntary-service promise completely to communicate some information with foreign athletes and reporters to whom I speak in English clearly, freely and fluently.

I listen to English accurately, too. This helps share a joy at happiness with which I as one of Chinese volunteers was filled in offering voluntary service to word-wide guests successfully.

Combining with the my knowledge acquired about sports, I will enabled to learn how to build up a harmonious and friendly relationship between people from countries, to become more respectfully, morally, socially responsible.

This needs to be skilled in communicating well with one another in English. Thinking about this, mentally, I am full of enthusiasm about athletes and people present at Olympic Game at their service with which I would provide them hour by hour, day by day.

These well-doing ideas are to put into practice by means of doing the voluntary-service work excellently, which brings enjoyment to me in learning a lot from other’s volunteers whose well-behaved action gets me impressed excitedly.

This encourages me to achieve an intellectual and spiritual growth in individual and social value, in my cooperation with others volunteers.

One, whose Olympic-game spirit together with its mission is set in mind, remains true with the original aspiration. That inspires me to be one of its excellent volunteers, who help make Olympic Game extremely great.

They let those in need feel it convenient, comfortable and warm to them to live in the Olympic Village by working hard at offering them service patiently, carefully and kindly in volunteers' time, knowledge and skills or talents, together with strong physics.

These, I as one of volunteers feel all really excellently proud of doing in the host country, China, where to tell viewers something about the true-glory greatness of its ancient history and of contemporary- and modern-culture civilization as human created genuinely.
