(时间、地点、原因、条件)状语从句 Adverbial Clause

状语从句在整个复合句中起状语作用,用来修饰主句中的动词、形容词或副

词等。状语从句根据它表达的意思可分为时间、地点、原因、目的、结果、

上步、比较和条件等类别。

1.时间状语从句

引导时间状语从句常见的连接词有when, before,afer, while, since,ill

unil, as soon as等。如：

When he was6 years ole, he moved to China with his parents.当他16岁的时

后,他和父母一起来到中国。

While Jim was listening to the radio, there was a knock at the door.当吉姆正

在听收音机的时候,有人敲门。

As soon as I got into the classroom, the class began.我刚一到教室,就开始

上课了。

He has lived here since he became a teacher.他从当老师起就住在这里

She didn't go home until she finished her homework.她完成作业后才回家。

注意:当主句是一般将来时态时,时间状语从句中使用一般现在时表示将

来的含义,如

vill tell you when I get there我到那里时,我会告诉你的。

2.地点状语从句

常由 where, wherever等连接词引导。如:

They'll go where teachers are neede.他们将到需要教师的地方去

Wherever he goes, he always carries his schoolbag.他无论去哪儿都带着书

包

3.原因状语从句

常由 because,as, since等连接词引导。如:

Since you need a good rest, you should not watch TV too late.由于你需要好

好休息,看电视不要看得太晚。

He was late for school because he missed the early bus因为他错过了早班车

他上学迟到了

as, since, because这三个连接词都可以引导原因状语从句,如果“原因

构成主句含义的主要起因,通常用 because。如：

He was not at school yesterday because he was il他昨天没上学是因为他生

病了。

如果“原因”不构成主句的主要起因,就用as或 since。如：

As it was getting late, he began to think of going home.天色晚了,他便想起了

回家。

Since we are students, we should study hard.我们是学生,我们应该努力学

习。

4.条件状语从句

常由if, unless等连接词引导。如：

If you have any questions to ask, you can call me up.你如果有问题要问,你

可以给我打电话。

She will go to plant trees with us unless she is not at home.如果她在家就会和

我们一起去植树。

注意:条件状语从句与时间状语从句一样,从句中谓语动词用一般现在时

表示将来。如

If it is fine,, we will go to the park.如果是晴天,我们将去公园。

He won' catch the train in time, unless he takes a tari他不能赶上火车了

除非他乘出租车。
