如何看待地道的英语口语（如何表达不同程度的讨厌）

I dislike it. “我不喜欢它。”

“It’s not really my thing.”

代表这不是你的风格或者是你喜欢的。非常

有礼貌得说你不喜欢某个东西，因为暗指

自己不喜欢，别人可能喜欢。

“I’m not very fond of this flavor.”

也是非常有礼貌，较弱地表达不喜欢。但需要

注意的是用来指人的时候，可能会听起来代表

较强烈不喜欢。

“I’m not very fond of this style of music”

听起来很有礼貌，而 “I’m not very fond of her”

听起来你讨厌她。

“I’m not a fan of it./

I’m not the biggest fan of it.”

两句话的意思是一样的：我不喜欢它。需要

注意的是指人的时候，“I’m not a fan of him”

可能是指他的作品，而“I’m not the biggest

fan of him.” 可能是指他的性格。

“It’s not (really) my cup of tea.”

这个⽤法来表达不同的人喜欢不同的人和事物。

礼貌地表述不喜欢的事情，尤其是有不同形式

的事情，e.g. 衣物，艺术，音乐，电影等。

暗指你不喜欢但有可能别人喜欢。

I hate it. “我恨它。”

“I (absolutely) detest/despise/loathe

doing laundry.”

detest /dɪˈtest/ 憎恶

despise /dɪˈspaɪz/ 鄙视

loathe /ləʊð /憎恨

以上单词比 hate 强烈，非常正式的表达。

⼀般不会用来指人，因为实在是太强烈了！

“I take exception to that idea.”

非常正式，代表强烈的反对。一般口语中不常见。

“I’m really put off by that colour.”

代表很不喜欢。也可以把这个词变为形容词:

off-putting.

“That smell is really putting me off the

soup. ”=“I hate the smell of that soup."

“I find his attitude very off-putting.”

“Mosquitos are the bane of my existence.”

bane /beɪn/ 灾星、祸根

“The bane of your existence” 会导致你的

⼈生有很大的麻烦，是你最大的敌人。

这个表达非常强烈，一般都会用这个表达来调侃。

“Algebra is the bane of my existence.”

“Windows updates are the bane of my

existence.”
