一、during多指事件发生“在……期间”；例如：

• The statues were built during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. 这些雕像是在十六世纪和十七世纪建造的。

• During my last winter holiday, I went to the countryside with my father to visit my grandparents. 去年寒假期间，我和爸爸一起去乡下看望了爷爷奶奶。

二、within强调完成事件所用时间，表示“在……之内”；例如：

• If you hire someone within ten days, I’d be happy to provide training in my areas. 如果你能在十天内招到人，我很乐意提供我负责范围内的培训。

• Why does Peter have to complete his trip within 42 hours? 为何彼得必须在42小时内完成他的旅行?

三、through强调事件发生的全过程，表示“从……开始到……结束”；例如：

• His friends tried to help him through his darktimes. 他的朋友们试图帮助他度过黑暗时期。

• This will give you the confidence you need to get you through the afternoon. 这会让你有信心顺利度过整个下午。
