what about...?的用法

what about...？这是一个常用的句型结构。about是介词，它后面可以接名词，代词或者动词-ing形式。这个句型一般不单独使用，一定要有上下文。在描述了某一事物之后，转向另一事物时才可以用。

（1）征求对方的看法和意见。

What about this pen?这支钢笔怎么样？

What about the new book?这本书怎么样？

（2）当向对方提出建议或者请求的时候相当于：Would youlike...？

What about playing football now?

Would you like to play football now?现在踢足球怎么样？

（3）当询问天气或者身体等状况的时候。

What about the weather in your city? 你们城市的天气怎么样？

（4）当寒暄的时候用作承接上下文的转折语。

need的用法：

need 可以作动词也可以作为名词，当作动词时既可以作为实义动词也可以作为情态动词，意为：需要。

（1）need作为实义动词时 need sth.需要某物

例如：Does he need any help?他需要帮助吗？

need to do sth.需要做某事

例如：He needs to do his homework first.他需要先做他的家庭作业。

need doing 需要或应该做某事

例如：The house needs cleaning,这所房子需要清扫。

（2）need作为情态动词时，后面接动词原形，可用于疑问句或者否定句中。

例句：Need he sweep the floor now? 他需要现在扫地吗？

You needn't hand in your homework today.你今天不需要交你的家庭作业。

（3）need作为名词的时，需要例如：

There is no need for you to get up early tomorrow.你明天不必早起。
