癸卯岁始春怀古田舍二首（其二）

陶渊明

先师有遗训，忧道不忧贫。

瞻望邈难逮，转欲志长勤。

秉耒欢时务，解颜劝农人。

平畴交远风，良苗亦怀新。

虽未量岁功，即事多所欣。

耕种有时息，行者无问津。

日入相与归，壶浆劳近邻。

长吟掩柴门，聊为陇亩民。

陶渊明（约365年—427年），字元亮。浔阳柴桑（今江西省九江市）人，一作宜丰人。东晋田园诗人，被誉为“隐逸诗人之宗”、“田园诗派之鼻祖”。有《陶渊明集》。

TAO Yuanming (c. 365-427), styled One Glow, a native of Chaisang, Xunyang (present-day Jiujiang, Jiangxi Province), or of Yifeng. A pastoral poet in the Eastern Jin dynasty (317-420), he was praised as the “Ancestor of Hermit Poets” and the “Originator of the Idyllic School”. The poet authored A Collection of Tao Yuanming.（王佩译）

As by Teacher we have been taught,

Care the Word, poverty you care not.

The erudite learning’s beyond me;

Mood changed, hard-working I will be.

The harvest makes a happy while;

“Great job”, to the farmers I smile.

To the field blows wind from afar;

The sprouts so new, how new they are!

The yearly yield I cannot measure;

The reaping now fills me with pleasure.

Now and then, take a rest we may;

No travelers come to ask the way.

We go back home as the day ends;

A toast to my neighbors or friends!

Now close the door, a verse I’ll hum;

A farmer here I’d fain become.
