给别人让座，可千万别说成let the seat，这完全是错误的，是中式英语的说法习惯，英语的思维是这样的：让座，就是把座位贡献出来，或者放弃自己的座位，那么用到的单词相信大家都知道了，就是offer或者give up.

give up one's seat to sb.

其实最根本的原因就是语言思维习惯的问题，

我们总会用中文的习惯去翻译英文，

所以经常就不是英语的表达方式了，

也显得很不地道。

其实，如果你真不知道怎么用英语说“让座”，

又不得不表达清楚，

这种情况下可以换种方式，

可以直接告诉那人“here, please”，

或者说“sit here”，

别人也同样可以理解你的意思，
