Arbor Day植树节

March 12 is the Arbor Day in China. It started in 1979. April 10 is the Arbor Day in the USA, Canada, Australia, etc. On Arbor Day people plant more trees to beautify（美化） our surroundings（环境）.

Government leaders, celebrities（名人） and citizens （市民）all go out to the fields to plant trees. Arbor means trees. Once upon a time, there lived a beautiful girl named Ann. She liked to plant trees very much. She worked hard, and planted a lot of trees. Later, in order to remember her, people named a US city after her---Ann Arbor.

Today, Ann Arbor is a beautiful city. It is famous for the well-known university---the U of M, the University of Michigan（密西根大学）. It has the same reputation as Harvard（哈佛）, Yale（耶鲁）, or Berkley（伯克利）.

In every April, U of M has a tradition to hold “Naked Miles” event, and all the participants do the running wearing nothing. I am proud of my alma mater（母校）. As one of the alumni(校友), I must plant more trees.

There are several Nobel Prize winners from U of M. All the students are free to take the school bus or the city’s public bus.

Of course, there are strict rules on campus, such as: Don’t pollute the environment. Don’t fight on campus. Don’t smoke in class. Don’t drink alcohol in the stadium（体育馆）. Don’t wear bikini in class. Don’t be late for class. Don’t cut down trees. No littering.

On Arbor Day, we must love the earth, and don’t pollute our environment. 热爱地球，保护环境 A lot of people suggest that we must elect Ariana Grande as our Arbor Ambassador.
