英语易混词怎么学（英语里常考的几组易混词）

1. gold与golden

   gold的意思是“黄金;金制的”,golden的意思是“金色的”。许多同学容易把他们搞混,不加区别的使用。实际上,gold 强调的是物质,而golden强调的是颜色，还可以引申为很好的。例如,妈妈手上戴的金戒指,是纯金的哦,而不是廉价的金色仿制品,所以金戒指应该是“gold ring”,而不是“golden ring”啊，再来组几组词对比一下：

2. historic与historical

   historic的意思是“有历史意义的，历史上有名的”。 historical的意思是“历史上的，历史学的"，来对比一下：

   a historical novel 历史小说 a historical book关于历史的书籍

   注意：有时同一个名词，用两者修饰都可以，但含义不同：我们说历史上某一次战斗是 a historic event，那是说这次战斗在历史上有名或有影响；同时也可以说它是 a historical event，那是说它在历史上的确发生过。

3. economic和economical

   economic 的意思是”经济上的，经济学的“。economical的意思是”经济的，节俭的“，来对比一下：

   economic problems.经济问题 a bad economic state 糟糕的经济状况

   an economical car 经济型轿车 an economical wife 节俭的妻子

4. healthy和healthful

healthy 有两个意思，一是指“人本身健康的”，二是指“有益于健康的”。如：

Good food keeps you healthy. 好的饮食使你健康。

Cycling is certainly healthier than driving. 骑车肯定比开车有利于健康。

healthful通常只指"有益于健康的"如：

The air at seaside is healthful to us. 海边的空气对我们的健康有益。

5.considerate和considerable

considerate表示"体贴的，周到的”，considerable表示“值得考虑的，相当多的”

He is always considerate towards old people.他总是体贴老年人。

A considerable sum of money has been put into the project. 相当可观的一笔款项已经投入到这个工程。

6.respectful和respectable

respectful表示“尊敬的，有礼貌的”，respectable表示“令人尊敬的，高尚的”

The little girl is respectful towards others.小女孩对他人都很有礼貌。

The respectable old man has contributed a lot to the building of his hometown.这个令人尊敬的老人为自己的家乡风险了很多。

7.practical和 practicable

Practical的涵义是“实际的”、“实用的”，它指具有实际的经验、某事物切合实际或实际可用，可用于人或事物。如：practical English实用英语； practical chemistry应用化学，a practical man讲求实际的.。

Practicable的涵义是“可用的”、“可实行的”（feasible），它指某个项目或计划有实行的可能，但尚未加以发展或试验，只用于事物.如：

I don't think it is something practicable.

我认为它不是切实可行的。

The plan is practicabel. 这个计划可行。

8,momentary和momentous

momentary表示“霎那的，短暂的”，momentous表示“重大的，重要的”

Her feeling of fear was only momentary. 她的恐惧感只是瞬间的。

It‘s a momentous decision whether she is going to marry the young man .她要做出重大决定，是否嫁给这个年轻人。
