The Oracle

A shrine (a small shrine in which an idol or ancestral tablet is enshrined. )stands in a puppet. This puppet can answer any question you ask and can predict the future. Because all my predictions had been confirmed, he was full of gold, silver and jewels donated by my men and women. The Marionette was shining in all its splendour. There were things under his feet, prayers in his ears, and smoke in the little censer before him that made it impossible to breathe.

Later, for some unknown reason, the Marionette's answers became more and more erratic, and his predictions were often unproved. No matter who he was, no matter what questions he asked, his answers were not satisfactory, and sometimes he could not even answer them.

Worshippers also wondered where the puppet's wisdom had gone.

It turned out that the puppet was hollow, and the priest sat in a hollow hole pretending to be a god to answer people's questions and make predictions. The priest was a wise man, and his answer was always foolproof. However, once a fool hides in it, even the most clever puppet will become a piece of wood.

To enrich themselves, so that they have the ability to solve problems and wisdom, so as to become a real wise person.
