后跟动词原形的词英语总结（最容易被同学们混淆的三个和名词）

今天给同学们讲了这样三道题：

在四个答案中，on the end of 是不存在的，所以这三道题考察的是其它关于end的三个短语的区别：

介词at的意思是“在...点”，后面接某个具体的时间点、地点或者对象，在本次讲解中，这个具体的对象是名词“end”，意思是“结束，末尾”, at the end 的意思是在结束，在末尾。

而介词of的意思是“...的”，表示所属关系，合起来“at the end of”的意思就是在...的结束，在...的末尾。

所以，第1题选B，要表达的意思是：经理在会议的结尾做了一个简短的总结。

In the End

介词in的意思是“在...内部，在...里”或者“到...内部去”，后面接某个时间段或者某个具有空间概念的词，在本次讲解中，这个时间段是“end”，in the end 的意思是到结尾去，就是要结束、终止一件事的意思，也就是“最终，最后”的意思，相当于finally, at last.

所以，第2题选C，要表达的意思是：最终，我们一致通过新计划。

By the End of

介词by的基本意思是“在...的旁边，紧挨着...，通过...”，它还有一个较少使用的意思是“不迟于，不晚于...”，后面接某个时间点，表示完成某事的最后时限。在本次讨论中，这个时间点是“end”, by the end的意思是, 不晚于末尾，不晚于结束。

再结合上介词of的一所属关系，by the end of 的意思是不晚于...的末尾，到...结束为止, 它是一个完成时的时间标志。

所以，第3题选D，表达的意思是：到1988年末为止，我们已经收集了这位作家的200本著作。
